Veterans supporting veterans—our Board of Directors is comprised of military leaders who carry their commitment to service beyond the uniform.

Chris Derbak

FOUNDER & CEO

Chris Derbak’s career blends distinguished military service, aerospace engineering expertise, and a longstanding commitment to skydiving. He completed his first static-line jump at the age of 18, sparking a passion that led him to pursue his A license shortly thereafter. A year later, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving in multiple theaters of operation while earning a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Following a 20-year career in uniform, culminating in his retirement from the United States Coast Guard, Chris transitioned to professional skydiving as a certified Accelerated Freefall Instructor (AFFI), Tandem Instructor (TI), and coach. Drawing on both his military background and personal experience navigating the challenges of transition, he contributes to Jump for Valor with the mission of re-engaging veterans in meaningful pursuits that foster purpose, resilience, and community.
